I love Alfredo's Italian Kitchens! This one in specific has the tastiest pizza in Boston, hands down. It doesn't just end there... pasta, steak tips, salads--everything--are all just mouthwateringly tasty. My favorite thing about this place is how I leave with a full stomach AND a happy wallet; I find that at many of the nearby places, you sort of have to pick one or the other--you can't have both like you can at Alfredo's! My recommendations for pizza are the shrimp scampi and the buffalo chicken. For pasta, I recommend the chicken broccoli alfredo. Honestly though, you can't go wrong with anything on the menu. If it doesn't taste absolutely fantastic, I seriously doubt Alfredo's would serve it. I work nearby and have been stopping by for many years now. The quality of the food and the courteousness of the staff is unmatched. If you've never tried this place before, cancel your lunch/dinner plans today and get yourself over there, you won't regret it. I strongly recommend this place!

Anything you order on the menu will be outrageously tasty. Not sure how these guys do it in the tiny ass boiling kitchen but the food is unmatched for the price. Top choices: steak tips - absurd, anyone who's had them will agree Fresh haddock plate

Very quick. Very friendly. Cheeseburger plate was decent. Pizza was better. But why does your vent smell so bad? It makes me re-think what I eat from here.

This is an update from a previous review. I had terrible lasagna a few years back... However, Alfredo's has definitely redeemed themselves. I ordered eggplant parm with pasta and it was definitely tasty. Classic and good. And a substantial portion- definitely enough for two meals. I also had the shrimp abruzzo the following week (I was impressed enough to try again!). It's basically a creamy tomato sauce- was really delicious. The rolls are delish. Definitely a safe bet for some easy local pasta. I'll be back I'm sure.

Cheap and decent food sold here. I got the eggplant parmagiana and chicken piccata. The eggplant was legit good, but i didn't particularly like the chicken piccata. The eggplant was sold as a side for $6.50 and chicken piccata fed 2 at $13.00. The guys working were pretty nice as well.

Got delivery from here via foodler, and the delivery time was on time. It's expensive, so I had higher than normal delivery expectations. The Scampi was HUGE, came with 5-7 shrimp added on for $5. It was better reheated, maybe because I then had a chance to get the sauce all over the pasta. Maybe filling it to the brim wasn't the best idea...Also, the bread with it was very tough. The pizza was up there with the better delivery pizzas. The jalapeno poppers were the TGI Fridays variety, For $9 I expect better. And they weren't still hot when we got them, as opposed to everything else, which made me think they were made for another order/cooked way too early. The garlic bread was really nice.

Pizza is consistently great and delivery guys are always friendly!

Love this place! The staff is friendly and comical , they know how to make me smile. It's a small cozy place and can only eat in 3 people. So deliver or take out! Pro tip: if your ordering Alfredo pizza or pasta get lemon wedges on the side and squeeze that bad boy all over it! The lemon cuts the cream, bringing acidity to the dish thus making it lighter on the palette.

We were looking for a new pizza delivery place and we keep striking out. Ordered a large pizza from Alfredo's on Monday night. Half veggie/half margarita. The margarita was good. The half that was veggie was so soggy! We had to throw it away. We were really disappointed. I really think pizza delivery places need to make sure their pizza's aren't soggy... the box was soaked through on the bottom. Gross!

Update: The owner contacted me directly and offered an apology along with an offer for delivery to our apartment (even though we are in fact out of the coverage area). My bad. Definitely going to try this place very soon to see what all the hype is about!

I have been using this catering service for years, and we order from Alfredo's at least once a week for dinners. The cheese pizza is so good, steak tip Caesar salads are a favorite of ours. It was also nice to order a small tray of steak tips in the summer, bring it home, make a salad and done,. It's quite a busy spot and when u phone order in a delivery, u can hear several phones ringing at once.. #goodsign The delivery staff are always so nice, polite and quick.. Great food!! Won't disappoint!!

Ordered pizza from here one day because it was the highest-rated pizza place near the South End that delivered. Got a medium Veggie pizza and a medium 4 Cheese pizza to split among 5 people. There was enough for everyone even though we were hungry, so the portions are good. I was unimpressed with the veggie pizza, it seemed to lack sauce, although the vegetables were definitely present in a big way. They were pretty much all I could taste of that pizza. The 4 Cheese pizza was one of the best cheese pizzas I've ever had though. It was heavy on ricotta cheese which I was unsure about when ordering, but it was such a good choice. Just really good pizza. A lot of cheese on this one and still not enough sauce, barely a hint of red, actually, but the deliciousness of the cheese made up for it. Delivery took a shade too long at 50 minutes, seeing as they're just over a mile away, but at least the pizza was still hot when it got to us.

Alfredo's is great for Italian take-out on the West Side of South Boston. The food is tasty, and delivery is reasonably quick. Make sure to get some steak tips! The Alfredo, Carbonara, and Picatta pastas are all worth trying. The rolls they throw in are also delicious! The Onion ring side is huge, but I doubt you won't finish them. The Pasta dishes are enough for about 4 people, or multiple meals.

I have been going to this local treasure for the past several years and the quality of food there is excellent and the staff are extremely friendly & accommodating. Portions are large & i usually get a few meals from a single order. This is a must go to in Southie, or take-out arrival is very quick also.

The chicken Siciliana is a great pest chicken and veggie dish with your choice of a pasta! The portion is enough for two very hungry people or 3 decent size meals! The bread it comes with is great as well.

Decent delivery service. Way too much alfredo sauce compared to the amount of pasta I got. Food did come hot though, and the pizza was very satisfying.

  • P V.

Solid pizza! I've tried the pepperoni, sausage, and Hawaiian, all taste great! The pasta is a little heavy on salt. I was thirsty for 12 hours after having the chicken alfredo. Nonetheless, still a very tasty dish! Very convenient location, and quick delivery!

I come in here so often that I can't say anything bad about it. We live down the street and this place is definitely our go-to for lazy nights (or just nights when we are craving pizza). The pizza is great thin crust, and we love the prosciutto carbonara. They always give you fresh little triangles of their bread too which goes great with the pasta or is just good on its own later on if you're too full from the giant portion of pasta they give already. So far we haven't hit anything we haven't liked, and the prices are great to top it off. Plus, they deliver!

  • Andrew V.

I heard from a few people that the pizza here is different than other Southie pizza joints. What I can tell you is it lived up to the expectation of being different. If different meant the pizza was undercooked, flavorless, covered with raw vegetable toppings and rolled out to big for the box and then crammed into it after they realized it didn't fit. Take my word for it, go somewhere else for your Southie take out! Less than impressive.....

So I was relatively new to the city back in '11 and I probably was a little "high on life." Make no mistake, Alfredo's is still a good option for delivery, but their probably not TOP quality like a 5 star rating would indicate. As unbiased as I can be, Broadway's Best and Amsterdam Cafe make better wraps/subs than they do for sure. If you're working out a lot and really need to load up on carbs, they do the chicken parm over pasta (and pasta dishes in general) very well and really give you two meals in one.

Pretty good and quick takeout. Great bread with every order and our go to is the steak and pepper plate. Comes with rice and a side salad for close to 10 bucks.

This is a solid place to get take out in South Boston. I ordered a linguine with homemade meatballs, cheese ravioli in some type of red sauce (I don't remember) and a steak and cheese calzone. The guy on the phone said it would take about 30 minutes for delivery (around 4PM). They arrived at the 34th minute but that was either a fault in my apartment's intercom system or my cellphone service because I got their voicemails but I never received the call, anyway, all was forgiven when the guy told me he was waiting downstairs for six minutes. I felt terrible. Anyway, onwards to the food. The food was okay but the portions are great for the price. For about 7.00$, you'll get one of those black Chinese food containers worth of pasta and two breads, which is definitely enough for two people. They wrap the containers in plastic wrap to keep things from spilling out and it keeps it hot! I almost burned myself pulling all of the goods out. The bread that comes along with the pasta dishes is amazingly soft and delicious. I think it's pizza dough, cut and baked into a triangle. The linguine tasted okay, I think it wasn't drained before it was mixed into the sauce or maybe that's just how it is and I've been eating it the wrong way the entire time. The meatballs were great though. The sauce for the linguine was watered down a bit, like I said earlier but I could taste the fresh tomatoes. The ravioli was again, just good. They have some type of breaded skin over the ravioli pasta that was a bit weird to me. The filling was fine, it was a hard cheese. The sauce was amazing though. It was slightly spicy and acidic. Next time, I think I will get the sausage with the ravioli. The steak and cheese calzone was so so good. It was dripping in meat juices. They leave the calzone whole and supply you with a plastic knife (a good plastic knife at that) so you can cut it on your own, which I think is a great idea because it keeps everything hot and juicy. The bread, crust, or whatever you call it was soft, not hard and not over-baked like other places. Definitely, definitely worth a try if you are in the South Boston area. Edit: I forgot my pro tip! Pro-Tip: Take a bite of one of the corners of their breads that comes with the pasta dishes, take a spoon, shove it in there and make a groove. Put that sauce all up in there. Heaven.

Alfredo's is the best thing in my life right now. Their pizza is soooo good! I got the Mamma Maria this time around and it has shit tons of ricotta, fresh basil, and just enough prosciutto. The prosciutto is not some shit out of a package. To me, it tastes homemade. I have ordered from Alfredo's many times before, but this time tastes particularly spectacular so I bestow 5 stars upon them - even though I couldn't get the website to allow me to get delivery, even though I live 3 blocks away. Note to future readers: I was relatively stoned when I wrote this.

  • Jack L.

I'm starting to think some of the people are on pot when I go in... Regardless their chicken alfredo linguine is amazing! Two thumbs up for wrapping it in plastic when I get it to go. Not kidding. It keeps the heat in, and whenever I need to put it down for a couple of minutes it's just as hot as it was when I got it. Chicken is always cooked wonderfully. The only reason it loses a star is because once in a blue moon the dish can be so dang buttery sometimes. It leaves such a nasty after feeling inside of your mouth, and it's just all in all not a pleasant thing. But like I said, once in a blue moon. When it's cooked right, the entire thing is delicious.

Great for lunch or dinner. Have only ever tried their pizza. Its pretty solid, love their veggie pizza. The owners are always very friendly and this place is open pretty late. Have never had a bad experience and is probably one of the better pizza places in south boston.

Once I found out this place was a chain, it was the brightest news I heard all day. The portions are huge and the prices don't reflect it. This was my go-to Italian food delivery place when I lived in Southie. I've had the pizza, subs, and various pasta dishes, and I was satisfied with everything.

Disclaimer: Review is based on customer treatment, not food. The food at Alfredo's is actually decent. The first time, I ordered sausage lasagna and cheesy garlic bread, both of which were delicious. The second time I ordered from Alfredo's, I ordered Chicken Saltimboca (which was flavorless) and a Caesar salad with anchovies. This review is about the treatment I received upon ordering a salad with anchovies. When placing the order over the phone, the person on the other end laughed and questioned my order. The employee told me "he had never heard of a caesar with anchovies before." This is not only common in most restaurants, but caesar dressing is often MADE with anchovies. Regardless, I shrugged off the banter and picked up my food 20 minutes later. When I got the bill, I noticed I was charged an extra FIVE dollars for anchovies, which totaled more than a steak tip salad. I looked on their take-out menu and noticed the option to add anchovies on a pizza was only two dollars. I asked a young staff member behind the counter why the large increase. He lifted his shoulder and barely responded to the questioning. My bill was 30 dollars for an entree and salad; For that price, I could have been served upon and had a drink elsewhere! For that reason, I will never go back to Alfredo's! Put customer service before food!

Yuck. Ordered delivery last night. Pizza arrived cold and the pepperoni was uninspired, the sauce was thin and watery, the crust was like steamed bread. It may have been one of the worst delivery pizzas I've ever had. It was late and the guy on the phone was not polite. Can't believe anyone likes this place. Must have had a really bad night last night.

My roommate and I have decided that this is the best takeout pizza in Southie. Service can be slow at times but the food is pretty good. Most of the pizza places in southie are sub par so if you are looking for a diamond in the rough, give this place a go.

My boss usually orders from here on Fridays since I work in southie and I must say I've yet to try something I don't like. Everything from the pizzas to the dinners are really good...... I highly recommend the Deluxe Pizza!

DON'T ORDER FROM THEM I ordered for a mother and son in the hospital/ critical situation and wanted to provide them with some nice food. I called at 11:57, placed the order for 4:20. At 6:15 I had to go searching for the order number. They gave me the flimsey excuse that they were out of soup. (Out of soup??) and said that they called the hospital several times. They lied of course. The name and room number of the recipients were right on the order. All they had to do was ask them for a substitution. So instead of something wonderful done for these people, stress and anxiety was applied as they waited for food (paid for!) that was never delivered. SLIP SHOD organization run by people who should not be in the business of serving people. This was not a normal home delivery. It was a tragic situation that I wanted to send some care and comfort and instead delivered anxiety and left them hungry.

Two words: STEAK TIPS. It's funny, I live not too far from Alfredo's and I had food from there a couple of times. I liked it, but it was one of those things where you forget about it and think meh, another sub/pizza shop...whatever. Well, that thought has changed my friends. I work at a pretty large salon on Newbury St and several months ago one of my coworkers that lives in Southie was craving steak tips. I asked her where her favorite place for steak tips was, and without hesitation she blurted out ALFREDO'S! So she took a chance and decided to call them to see if there was any possible way that they would deliver to Newbury St. I believe that they said they would if the order was of a certain amount. Flash forward several months later, Alfredo's has been in our top 3 most popular food deliveries ever since. Since then I've tried several different things from Alfredo's such as their huge and delicious pasta dinners, as well as their outstanding pastrami subs. But the steak tips are the shit here. Whether four or twelve of us place a single order from here, steak tips are the majority of what shows up in the delivery bags. I've yet to try a better steak tip anywhere in Boston...see for yourself!

A lot of people commented on the pizza slices so I tried it today, and it was delicious. I usually don't care for pizza with red sauce but this slice was awesome. If you are in the Norwell area, it's worth stopping by. The staff was very helpful to me in choosing the right kind if San Marzano tomatoes. I also purchased some scali bread and some funky looking kind of pasta. Check out the photos I attached for a better understanding of what these items look like.

I'm not sure what's going on at Alfredo's as of recent as they used to have the best pizza in Southie but recently it seems that has changed. I believe they are under new ownership as the thin crust has Diss appeared and the crust is now like typical Greek style. Very gooey and greasy. Also I no longer order take out because it takes forever and it's usually cold by the time it gets here. I wish they would have stuck to the original way they made their pizza..I guess good things don't last forever!

Two experiences, with two different results. I went with a chicken cutlet sub the first time around and it was off the chain. It was great size and left me wishing I had went full-fat-boy and just ordered two. (4 stars) The second time around I made the mistake of ordering their 'grilled chicken dinner plate'. The chicken was super dry; like, I made this chicken this morning, put it in the fridge, microwaved it, and then delivered to you Rob, dry (this is all a speculation of course, but I'm confident it would hold up in court). They made up for it though by adding a huge portion of rice, salad (with dressing included), and a slice of bread (all for $11 which is just top-notch value - this all lasted me two days). I also got the garlic bread with cheese that was a solid B+. (3.5 stars) In the end, they would have gotten a 5 if the chicken wasn't as disappointing as it was. Hopefully it was just a rare bad moment.

  • Jim D.

Don't order the chicken finger dinner. They give you chicken cutlets. Also the fries and onion rings had a fish taste to it. They need to change the grease more often or use seperate fryers. Not impressed

  • Leah A.

Want a calzone as long as your arm? A delicious pizza, or perhaps chicken piccatta? You should go to Alfredo's! I will agree with another reviewer, however, that the calzones need to come with more sauce cups. I bought some extra jarred marinara to use for my leftovers after my mom and I split a large calzone (into two meals apiece). It's relatively easy to get a parking spot nearby to pick up your order, they also offer delivery. This is definitely my new go-to for lazy dinner nights!

Just moved back to Southie and decided to try Alfredo's based on previous Yelp reviews. I opted for the Chicken Abruzzo and it was delicious! The veggies were perfectly cooked (still a little firm), not overly cooked like most takeout and the sauce was fantastic. Even the bread that came with it was amazing. I was so impressed that I went back the next night for a sausage pizza. I prefer a slightly thinner, crispier thin crust, but it was still great. Quite likely the best pizza in Southie. I will be keeping this number handy!

Best take out I have found in Southie/Dot area. Highly recommend trying the ziti and meatballs. They put basil leaves in the container so it adds a lot of flavor. The pizza is also fab. Love this place!

I have ordered take-out from here many times and it does stand up to the plethora of pizza shops in Southie, BUT I am going to focus on the catering side of the business, as I was extremely happy with my experience. I was in charge of putting together a casual, extended family Christmas party for about 100 people (adults and many children) at Old Colony Yacht Club and decided that I would try Alfredo's-they had a nice looking catering menu, it was inexpensive (they also offer a coupon for $50 off a large order) and it was in close proximity to the hall. I called about a week before the party and to my surprise spoke with....Alfredo...Yes, there really is an Alfredo. We set up a time for me to go in to the shop and discuss the menu, delivery, pricing, etc. He was very helpful when it came to determining how many portions of each dish I needed, making sure I got the most for my fairly small budget. I went with the standard italian spread: caesar and garden salads, ziti, chicken and broccoli, sausage, peppers and onions, baked ziti, some pizzas for the kids, and baskets of their delicious dinner rolls with butter. The food was delivered pipping hot and right on time. The driver was pleasant and more than willing to assist in setting up the buffet, including transferring all the hot food into the chafers. Everyone raved about how good the food was... and there was plenty of everything for them to enjoy (and even some left over for me to take home!) If you are looking for an inexpensive, but good quality Italian buffet, I would highly recommend trying Alfredo's....Ask for Alfredo :)

Another winner and newest addition to my takeout list! Ordered a grilled chicken caesar salad and it was great - very fresh romaine with four large chicken tenders and not one, but TWO pieces of good bread to go with it =D Delivery arrived well ahead of Foodler's estimated time too. Will def be ordering from here in the future.

My dad and I have stopped here a few times when we have been working in the area for a bite to eat for lunch. This is a solid eatery. Not a great looking place, or like anything special. It's pretty good though. I got a tuna [salad] salad, the first time and pizza the other times swapped back and forth, just because of ease of eating --- also I found two things I liked that were easy for popdukes to remember by the time it was time to order, why mess around? Tuna [salad] salad : FRIGGIN'UGE! It was like 2 servings in one. Well done you, Alfredo. Twice as many pepperoncinis than most places put (which makes me happy cause I love them!), and not just cold tomatoes and huge sloppy chunks of iceburg lettuce like lots of sub shops try to pass off as a salad. It was tasty. Bread on the side was fresh, and salad dressing came in a kens plastic pack, more than enough for the whole salad. Pizza - good. Just plain good. Service is quick enough to fit into a quick lunch schedule while at work, so I'll definitely be back to try something else.

So I love getting pasta from Alfredos. Their marinara is very, very good and the bread they give you is sooooo amazing good. I even like their stuffed shells and meatballs (which i never eat). Today I didnt feel like pasta so I ordered pizza. I was sad to learn they dont have Sicilian slices which is my favorite. So I settled for their traditional thin crust. It was okay. I think next time I will stick with their pastas. Oh and they give you 2 pieces of bread with pasta dishes-those are delicious.

New neighborhood, new pizza opportunities. I was psyched to see the positive reviews for their pizza, but when it arrived, though still steamy hot from the oven, it didn't wow me. Maybe it was the sauce? It was thin, and I don't mind thin pizza, but there was something that just didn't get me all jazzed up. Their wraps and subs, though, are decently priced and sized. My dad and uncle dig their steak tip and pepper sub (they actually came to visit me for the sole purpose of getting subs from "that place". ok then.). I got the breaded chicken wrap and it was enough to split between lunch and dinner. There's still a lot more to explore on their menu, and since they deliver in a timely fashion and their prices are right, I will continue to order from here.

If you tend to judge a book by its cover, then rest-assured you'll never set foot in Alfredo's Italian Kitchen in Southie. With its big (not to mention ugly) red awning scaring away potential customers, this place is a bit of a hidden gem. The prices are so cheap (and the portions so generous) that you can't possibly find fault here. Recommendations: Mamma Maria pizza, Chicken parm calzone (the medium is 2 meals' worth!), and chicken abruzzo pasta. Come back and vote "Useful" once you've given it a shot.

This is place is what Boston is all about. Where a place doesn't cover their food with bunch of advertisements, fancy signs, uptight uniforms, etc. etc. Simply Alfredo's focuses on the food and only food. Food: Ummm.. everything is good on the menu. Yes, take my word for it. Every pasta, sub, and pizza are amazing. But if you did need a few pointers on which things to order then get the Milano pizza, Chicken Parm, or the Chicken Abruzzo! Service: The guys there are down to earth. Always friendly and cracking jokes whenever I come through. It makes any visitor feel welcome and very comfortable. Okay I can go on and on about alfredo's... but quite frankly, I'm done with this review now because you just need to go there and check it out for yourself. Do it. Do it Now.

This place is your basic sub and pizza shop. Over the phone they're friendly, the delivery is fast, and the delivery person has always been really nice too. The food is great. Major props for killer onion rings and mozzarella sticks. One pasta dish will feed a family of 4 and the steak and cheese sub is yum. However, they never come through on extra cheese when requested. That's the only downfall I've experienced. This place has become one of my "go-to" order in spots when my fridge is bare or I just don't feel like cooking.

Good pizza, fast service and great prices at this take-out place! Looking forward to going back to try other things on their menu. Had the cheese and the meat lover slices. Good sauce and crust and a good amount of cheese. I must say that the meat lover one really had A LOT of meat!

Alfredo's is my go to option in Southie. Fast, reliable and delicious. Can't ask for much more these days. Alfredo's has been good to me over the past 3 years I've lived here. Had to make them my first review as a result. My go to's are the greek salad with steak tips and the eggplant parm. A word to the wise, order the side of eggplant parm instead of the dinner. You get way more eggplant that way.

I've got to update and add a star. The pasta is still not my thing, i prefer it more al dente. However, I've expanded my menu choices and now i'm a pretty big fan. This will probably become my new go-to takeout for calzones, pizza and steak and cheese.

    (4)
  • Nicole V.

I should start off by saying that I'm yet to try the dinners. I definitely plan on it and will update when I do. We were in the mood for guilty pleasure food and didn't feel like leaving the apartment. Yelp was searched and Alfredo's was decided on for a Greek wrap (him), a buffalo chicken wrap (me), and jalapeno poppers. The poppers were a huge serving and quite delicious. I don't think I've ever dipped mine in marinara, but it almost worked (or maybe I was that hungry...) The buffalo chicken wrap just didn't do it for me. I really liked the buffalo sauce, but the rest was just far too mediocre (at best). I ended up switching with the boy and really enjoyed the Greek wrap. I'm going to go ahead and guess that my "meh" experience was due to ordering choice and will try again... (P.S. If you need to order pizza in Southie you can get two large cheese pizzas delivered in about 20mins for $15)

I come home. I'm hungry. I'm angry because I'm so hungry. I stop being able to function because I'm so hungry. I'm too hungry to cook, too hungry to walk to a take-out place, and almost too hungry to pick up the phone and call Alfredo's. Almost. 20 minutes later, and not a second more, life support in the form of steak tips (or pizza, or fish, depending on the night) arrives. I'm happy. I'm friendly. I'm able to function once more. Word.

When Alfredo's opened, I thought "Just what Boston needs, another sub joint! I hope they have wing dings!". Shockingly, this place does it right and no wing dings. Their subs and wraps are great, standard offerings but fresh. The pizza is great, Italian style thinner crust, lots of varied toppings and some creative options. Great sauce (sweeter, basil flavor). Steak tip dinner is great, plentiful portions. The kicker is in the pasta dishes.... They go far beyond the standard "ziti with sauce or chicken, broccoli, and alfredo" most places offer. Cacciatori, abruzzo, siciliana, carbonera, venetian... all kinds of styles, sauces, toppings with your choice of pasta. The pasta is excellent! Linquini, ziti, ravioli, shells, or really good gnocchi. Huge portions (easily feeds two), and comes piping hot with delicious crusty rolls. Delivery is fast and accurate every time. Prices are competitive with any other pizza joint. Best delivery joint in Southie.

I'm used to NY-style pizza, and they do a PRETTY good job of that... a little too much cheese, believe it or not, but definitely decent pizza. The pasta on the other hand, is phenomenal. HUGE portions. We got linguini alfredo and garlic bread the other night. Not only was it delicious, but it was enough to feed two, plus have for lunch the next day. Plus, the guys that work there are pretty nice!

This place is good if you like BIG portions. Im not a big fan of thier pizza or chicken fingers. They give you packaged blue cheese and their fries are blah. I don't really like pasta that much so I cant comment on how good their pasta dishes are. I do like their Steak and Cheese subs, especially if you ask for it to be toasted. Very Good Steak and Cheese

Hands down Best pizza in Southie! Love the cheese and bianco pizzas. The owner is a great guy and all the other guys are very nice.

Best Pizza around!! Quick and fast delivery, all the way to Dorchester! The sauce is amazing and the crust is the best. It is real Italian style dough, which really makes the pizza. The only thing was that they charged me $1 to use my credit card :(

No reason to come. The pizza isn't anything special and as someone who lives near by, no one who works there has anything to do with Italy...

Leaving Southie last summer had one giant drawback - no more Alfredo's. The thought of it was enough to re-consider the whole move. And unfortunately, I've found no comparable pizza-pasta-steak tips in my new Watertown neighborhood. When the urge is too much to deny, I make the trip. In my opinion, it's worth it. If you live in the area, do yourself a favor and add the number to your contact list. Prompt delivery and take-out. I highly highly recommend the following: Zitti chicken and brocolli alfredo. Not healthy, not the point. Bianco Pizza. Fresh toppings, crispy crust, light on the grease, and almost always available at the counter by the slice. Steak Tips. On a salad, in a sub, or as a side, they are almost magically tasty. Chicken Fingers. Not your average size or shape - almost like mini chicken cutlets. Served with an addictive honey mustard. Fries. HUGE portion, well seasoned - I always asked for them extra crispy - cause I could, and they would. The kitchen is ultra clean. The owners and people who work there are genuinely friendly. They take the time to know their customers and keep unusually high standards for this tiny take-out gem.

Alfredo's makes some really good pizza and bread rolls. Their alfredo sauce is hit-or-miss though. Some days it's got a good consistency and flavour and others it is warm milk. I have heard good reviews of their steak tips, either on sandwiches or on salads but being a vegetarian I cannot vouch for it.

Pretty much as good as it gets! I love this place so much!!! You will have dreams about the shrimp scampi pizza and their pasta dishes are just as good! The portions are really big and you get way more than you pay for! They deliver a lot quicker than the estimate you get on the phone and everyone is really nice. I highly recommend trying out all they have to offer on the menu

Their subs are decent, pizza's pretty good - and the delivery arrives very quickly.

OMG such good food! Everything is so fresh! The chicken melts in yor mouth! I mean really, for a pizza place they do have the BeST alfredo sauce... approriately.

Nasty! Dudes aren't even Italian. Steak tips are nothing but fat in aso sauce.

Best of the South Boston Italian delivery scene. Great pizza and robust menu. Unless they someone starts delivering Mexican Alfredo's will continue to own South Boston.

The Pizza is great, the price is ok, but the customer service sucks. I keep coming back for pick up and delivery, but I dread every time having to talk to someone here on the phone or in the store to make an order. It's like they are doing me a favor by taking my call, HEY I AM PAYING FOR THIS PIZZA, you could at least be polite!

It looks like a little hole in the wall but don't let the outside fool you, this is more than just another sub shop. It's good, especially catered items. I've eaten their catered food at two different events and enjoyed it so much we decided to order from them for a recent family party. The food was terrific and the prices were reasonable. We got plenty for the money we spent. I ordered over the phone and they delivered directly to the place we were having the party. Alfredo the owner (yes, that's his name) was super nice, professional and made the whole thing easy. The good part is you can order a small amount or a large amount, either way you still get the great service and delicious (fresh) food. The Q (the Quencher for newcomers) uses them and that's good enough for me.

After 2 months in Southie I've found a place worth ordering from again. I was beginning to lose hope for most of the culinary options around Broadway until found Alfredo's thanks to other Yelpers. Glad I did! So far I've only had a calzone but it was fabulous and huge. Their red sauce is really good so I imagine it translates well to their other dishes. I will be ordering Alfredo's again. Cons: Having found one good delivery option I may stop trying any others.

After a year of eating on and off at Alfredo's, I would say that my original review holds up pretty well. Their service remains friendly and prompt, their pizza remains the best in the area, and now that I've sampled more of their menu, I've realized that their pasta dishes are pretty darn good too. In particular, the chicken abruzzo (Chicken Sauteed in Pink (Cream Tomatoe) Sauce with fresh Garden Vegatables over Pasta) is a nice dish that offers something nicer that what you'll find at most sub and pizza shops. All pasta dishes are large enough to feed two, and the rolls they put in are excellent. Keep up the good work fellas.

The Milano pizza was very yummy! Loved the combination of fetta cheese, chicken and basil. Yummmy! The other pizza's we tried were good, the roni and caliente pizza. The Caliente pizza was not spicy at all which was a little disappointing. But, i would def order from them again.

You have to try the Margarita Pizza!!!!!!!!! And the North End Sub!!!!!!!! They're pretty much heaven. And they're super nice in there too.

All I can say is"Thank God for Alfredo's" I love this place, I love their pizza and I love the rest of their food. I am so happy to have at least one pizza place near me that makes an actual italian crust pizza, everyone else makes their crust fluffy and yeasty. Order from them, you will be glad you did.

Awesome prices and potentially the fastest pizza I have ever gotten. I have had two completely different experiences, and my guess is the not so delicious one was by chance. The first time I had it I decided it was the closest place to my house so why not, the pizza was bland and sopping with grease, some people like this...me I dig flavor, anything tastes good if you put tons of oil on it. The second time my friend said she loved them and so I decided fine ill give in. We didn't order pizza because after a review of their menu I was astonished at the extent of their menu. Me being a vegetarian I usually just get pizza because the only other option is mixed vegetable wrap/sandwich. This time I got a massive fresh ceaser salad with eggplant parmesan. It came with a huge hunk of delicious fresh bread. It was homemade and amazing. My husband got the veal sandwich and being a Philly snob he usually isnt impressed but he ate every last bite. Needless to say we will become regulars!

Sure, it's out of the way. Sure, it's in a sketchy area. Sure, it seats three. If you're lucky. However... Alfredo's has the good stuff, I assure you. Gigantic calzones with fresh ingredients taste like you'd expect authentic North End Italian food to taste like. If you want a good, cheap, Italian take-out from friendly people, look no further.

After trying out about 10 different pizza places in Southie with dismal results, we tried Alfredo's. Yay is right. Their pizza is great - almost as good as Regina's - and they deliver quickly. Stick with the pizza though - we ordered entrees once and thought they were just awful which is tood bad. Overly heavy breading on what I thought should be a chicken saute and things like that. If you want good entrees, go to Giacomo's in the South End. But for pizza - Alfredo is definitely a find!

We tried to order pizza from this place and the person on the phone was so rude that we just ended up hanging up the phone and ordering from another place.

Great hidden find in South Boston. The pasta dishes are big enough for 2 people or dinner and lunch the next day. The steak tips and meatballs are both delicious as is the chicken parm and all 3 can be ordered as a side item. Their subs are also very good and their chicken salad wrap is a nice healthy choice if you're trying to behave.

This was the WORST pizza I have ever had. Ordered a large bacon and a large Alfredo pizza. Both taste awful. I will never order from this place again. Stay away

  • Cheryl Y.

We order lunch in at work frequently, and half of the time use Alfredo's. They are fantastic with large orders. I've had several of their pizzas, salads, calzones, sides (excellent onion rings, by the way), and pasta dishes. I love the chicken parm, but it is really thin pieces of chicken so I can see other people not liking it as much as me. When we call they always say things like "anything for you, honey" or they call me sweetheart. I'm not sure if I should be charmed or creeped out. My coworker thinks they are just old fashioned.

Good pizza. Speedy delivery. It's really simple. If you live nearby, eat at Alfredos.

  • laura M.

Meehh. This place was OK. Tried it for takeout. It was overpriced for what you get. We got Chicken Parm and a Salad. The salad was pathetic, huge chunks of iceburg with shaved carrots and a mini slice of cucumber in there. It was not worth the $6 price tag. The chicken parm wasn't bad, but it wasn't memorable. There was almost no cheese and 2 smallish pieces of chicken. Sauce was watery, and there wasn't enough of it. Probably wont order from here again.

I like their food alot but like 4xs they gave me the wrong orders..i was pissed cus i was hungry,,so they said they would give me 4 free dinners......Their calzones are da BOMB!!

My girlfriend and I always order their BBQ Chicken Pizza and it is pretty good. However, it can be inconsistent. The first time we had it, it wasnt that greasy and was delicious. Recently, it has been greasier and not quite as tasty. I have also tried Chicken, Broccoli and Ziti Alfredo which was decent but very heavy. I say stick to the pizza!

I love this place! Everything on the menu is delicious, the pizza is especially amazing. I moved away for 2 years and I couldn't wait to get back and order Alfredos. Delivery is super fast, waiting on my order as I am typing. YUM YUM!

Wow. My boyfriend and I have been trying to find great pizza in Southie for awhile now. We tried Sidewalk Cafe which was good, but wayyy too cheesy, then L St Diner which we still love, but...nothing compares to Alfredo's. It's thin, but not too thin so you get a good crust, just enough cheese, and the toppings are all perfect. Service is also really great (fast delivery). We just recently got eggplant and broccoli and it was so tasty!! So much breaded eggplant, just enough broccoli. Same with there plain old pepperoni pizza - perfect amount of toppings and a great price! I think for the eggplant/broccoli one we paid $15. I haven't tried anything else but the pizza, but I'm sensing it's probably going to be pretty amazing, whatever we try.

i tend to rate according to overall experience and value... a pizza place would not everr get over 3 stars from me because lets face it its a pizza joint. HOWEVER ...as far as pizza places go, i will make an exception here. its not just pizza... the salads, the wraps, the subs, the pasta, allll good. i have to say... im a fan. this place is theeee place for delivery. i eat out lotss...and i cook alot... but when im in the mood to order in, theres never any question as to where.. alfredo's. everything is FRESHHHHH wich i cant emphasize enough ...means everythinggggggggggggg when ur not eating at the actual place. its CLEAN. fast delivery, they will also gladly make any additions or exceptions to ur order . the staff is great. the steak tips... man oh man, the pizza ...some of the best ive had in boston. almostttt as good as new york. ;) the calzons.... hugeeeeeeeeeeeeeee and delicious. the pasta portions are massive. i guess im just saying if its in ur area -CALL THEM ...if u can drive there... GO. NOW.

I lived in Southie for several years before trying this place (on a non-Southie friend's recommendation, no less) because frankly, from the outside it looked like just another hole in the wall Southie take-out place. I couldn't have been more wrong. I typically order pasta dishes from Alredo's, and they are incredible. The portions are HUGE (2-3 meals easily). The chicken broccoli ziti alfredo and scampi dishes are ridiculous (and not for the calorie-conscious). My favorite part, however, might be the sizeable, (freshly?) baked rolls that come with your food. No dry-ass loaf of italian bread here. The guy who takes your orders and the kid who delivers the food are very funny....always "What can I get you sweetheart?. "How you doing today, sweetheart?" You must try this place.

I order delivery from this place wayyy too much. Their food is about as good as South Boston gets and their delivery is usually super fast. Their pizza is great, probably as good or better than any I've had in Boston, their pasta dishes are huge, cheap & good - (with great variety, try one of the combos), and their steak tip sub is not to be missed. Ole' Alfredo HOOKS IT UP!

  • Steve C.

This is the best pizza in Southie by far, maybe the best takeout pasta in the entire commonwealth. You can get a massive container of whatever noodle, whatever sauce, whatever meat for around $10 and get an easy 2 meals out of it, plus fresh bread on the side. Delivery is fast and efficient as well. Can't say enough good things about this place.

  • David M.

I always like stopping by Alfredo's before a night of drinking on the town. Their subs are huge and delicious. My favorite is their cheeseburger sub. They make some of the best pizza. All their pasta dishes are cooked to order and very delicious. The sauce has a lot of garlic in it. The guys that work there are very friendly as other reviewers have already stated. They lose a star due to lack of parking in the area and also due to not having many seats. Luckily, I have a friend who lives close by where I can go to devour my Alfredo's.

If you want very good pizza/subs/etc this is the best place near me (JFK/UMass stop on red line). They get everything right and remember all special requests, and are super nice on the phone and when delivering. When I'm not in dot/southie, I crave their everything, but probable favorite is the steak and cheese with extra cheese, peppers and onions. I believe I would live on them were it not for pesky things like heart disease (although the steak and cheese at alfredo's is extra lean!) Raised as a roman catholic, I couldn't help but be convinced of their authenticity when I saw the lent menu :)

  • Ann Marie S.

My boyfriend and I get so much take-out from here it's embarrassing. We order 2-3 times a week, often we are not home from work till 6 or 6:30pm and Alfredo's is super quick and good. The Caprice salad and the Steak Tip salad are both huge and fresh. The calzones are really good, my favorite is the Eggplant Parm, they slice it really thin. Any of the pasta dishes with red sauce are tasty, I stay away from the white sauce because I find it bland. I never order the pizza, but I have tried the Bianco and it was delish. They deliver really fast, and are super accomodating to requests.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.

Pizza

Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.

Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.

Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.
